GSN REWORKS LINEUP,
SALUTES 50 GREATEST
GAME SHOWS
GSN begins a seven-week summer salute in prime time to The 50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time beginning July 17.
At deadline, TVgameshows.net had not determined from GSN how the shows were being selected, or in what format they will be presented.
Greatest Game Shows is part of a mild overhaul of the GSN daytime and nighttime lineups beginning July 3.
The classic games salute will air Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for seven weeks from 10-11 p.m. (EDT/PDT).
Among the other changes to the daily GSN lineup:
CARD SHARKS: The Jim Perry NBC version returns Monday-Friday from 2-2:30 p.m. (all times EDT/PDT), followed by the Bob Eubanks CBS version at 2:30. Weekends, the Bill Rafferty edition goes in from 9-10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
GREED: The Chuck Woolery show moves into its original Fox time slot of Thursdays at 9, replacing Dog Eat Dog.
SUPER PASSWORD: The Bert Convy game moves to 4 p.m., replacing the first half of the Weakest Link doubleheader. Saturdays and Sundays, the show moves to an hour block from 6-7 p.m.
FAMILY FEUD: The Richard Dawson edition takes over at 4:30 for the second half of Link.
MILLIONAIRE: The afternoon edition now moves to 5 p.m. seven days a week, supplanting the hour of Feud.
HOLLYWOOD SQUARES: The Tom Bergeron version will be inserted at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
I'VE GOT A SECRET: The current Bil Dwyer version has an early evening airing at 6:30.
BEAT THE CLOCK: The original Bud Collyer edition is restored to the 3 a.m. half of the Black and White Overnight block.

ROBERT DONNER:
1931-2006
Actor Robert Donner, best known to television viewers as Exidor in at least 22 episodes of ABC's Mork and Mindy from 1979-83, died last Thursday of a heart attack. He was 75.
Donner was also Sheriff Yancy Tucker, the chief law enforcement officer in at least 17 episodes of The Waltons from 1972-79.
As a result of his success on Mork and Mindy, Donner became a favorite as a game show celebrity for a five-year period, mostly in the early 1980s.
Donner began his career in the late 1950s as a western actor and was a popular guest player in western, crime and war series even during his Waltons years. He made multiple appearances on Rawhide, The Virginian, The Guns of Will Sonnett, High Chapparal, Alias Smith and Jones, Gunsmoke and Bonanza.
On police series, Donner turned up six times on Adam 12 and added multiple guest roles on Mannix and The Mod Squad.
In the 1960s, Donner appeared on both ABC Tuesday night war dramas, Combat and its subsequent replacement, Garrison's Gorillas.
A New York native, Donner grew up in New Jersey, Michigan, Texas and California before a four-year hitchin the Navy after high school. After drifting through a variety of jobs, he took the advice of a young actor who lived in his apartment house to go into performing. The actor's name: Clint Eastwood.
Donner's signature role came in 1979 as the robed Exidor, who brought counterpoint to the wacky Robin Williams sitcom. When Mork and Mindy climbed as high as number one in one Nielsen survey, Donner became in demand for the game show and talk show circuit.
His first stint was on Monty Hall's All-Star Beat the Clock on CBS in 1979. From that point, he became a favorite on Password Plus, appearing several times in 1980-81-82, including the final week Allen Ludden hosted the show before suffering his career-ending stroke.
Donner did Match Game in 1980, along with the Las Vegas edition of Hollywood Squares. In 1982 and 1984, he showed up on Tattletales---including the 1984 Best Friends Week with veteran actor Charles Lane (Homer Bedloe on Petticoat Junction) as his team partner.
Also in 1984, Donner was tapped for the ill-fated Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour and for Tom Kennedy's Body Language.
In his later years, Donner was a popular choice for celebrity golf tournaments and was in demand as a corporate motivational speaker.
In a quote from industrycentral.net, Donner said of his craft: "I believe that everyone who is serious gets an opportunity. It's a matter of being ready when that opportunity presents itself. Study your craft and take any job you can get."
