CHAIN REACTION EARNS
PRIME TIME SLOT
STARTING AUG. 1
When Bob Stewart sold Chain Reaction to NBC in 1980, he was treated to the lucky slot of 12 noon. The graveyard of NBC failures vs. The Young & the Restless after Jeopardy! was moved in 1974 could cover a section of Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Not so for Michael Davies' remake more than a quarter century later. GSN premieres Chain Reaction Aug. 1 in prime time. The series will air Tuesday through Sunday at 9 p.m. (EDT/PDT).
Repeats will air Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and Thursday and Friday in the overnight slot at 3 a.m. (classic Beat the Clock reruns will continue Sundays through Wednesdays).
Another new GSN game, Starface, checks in for the 9:30-10 p.m. slot. Reruns air Saturdays and Sundays at 3:30 p.m., Saturdays at 3 a.m. and Sundays at 1 a.m.
Two other adjustments to GSN's daily and weekend lineup begin July 31. Tom Kennedy's Body Language, which will feature occasional appearances by Lucille Ball, moves in from 9:30-10 a.m., replacing the NBC 1990-91 To Tell the Truth.
Weekends, Lingo moves up into a one-hour block from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The 1:30 edition bumps Love Connection.
