Here we go again. After a couple of weeks off, Bob Saget is back with The Mob. The show settled into a "respectable second" in the time slot ratings after Deal or No Deal left Fridays....but NBC is apparently comfortable with what the show is doing on Friday nights. What we are promised on this 1967 episode is a surprise guest host. This is the first of a month of Truth late-night episodes covering all of the show's eras except for the John O'Hurley package. The occasion: the 50th anniversary celebration of the original show's premiere in December 1956. This is Holiday Movie Magic Week, the first of a couple of Christmas-oriented themes. The show is still plugging along as the dominant number one in syndication. The most recent ratings available, for the week ending Nov. 5, had Wheel ensconced on top with 13.5 million viewers watching.
